Armed Kukis attack Kadangband village

After many days of no gunfights, armed Kukis reportedly opened fire several rounds at a Meetei village in Kadangband area on Sunday.
According to a report, armed Kukis fired several rounds at a Meetei village in Kadangband area at around 7pm, prompting the village volunteers to fire one double barrel round.
However, as the Kukis continued the aggression, the state forces deployed in the area fired several rounds in retaliation, bringing the gunfight to an end.
Additional security forces and the locals are staying out in the open on the road to prevent further incidents, the report conveyed.
