Army clarifies on arrest

Imphal, May 24 2012: The arrest of self styled Lt Thounaojam Sanajaoba alias Sana by the troops of 10 AR and 6/8 GR was based on specific information about the individual, a PIB (DW) statement clarified.

Stating that the individual is a known active member of the proscribed UNLF as per record available with the security forces, the PIB (DW) statement said the individual was handed over to the police as per the legal provisions for further investigation and judicial process.
