YFPHR condemns, demands befitting action

Imphal, January 20 2020: Youth's Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) has strongly condemned the alleged harassment and detainment of a woman IPS officer, who is presently posted as SDPO in Yairipok, by 12 Assam Rifles personnel at Khudengthabi check post.

A press release issued by YFPHR president stated that there has been numerous atrocities that the Assam Rifles had committed towards the people of Manipur and if the Assam Rifles fail to respect the rule of law, than it is high time for the Assam Rifles to leave Manipur, it asserted.

It appealed to the Chief Minister to immediately intervene and take up necessary actions against the culprits.

YFPHR further appealed the MHRC to take up necessary legal action on the matter.
