Imphal, September 18 2011: Lairenjam Meijrao Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sougrakpam Manihar was attacked by some unidentified persons using firearms at his Meijrao Maning Leikai residence at about 10 pm of September 16 .

Taking strong exception to the firing attack, a protest demonstration was staged today at Irom Meijrao Imoinu Keithel under the aegis of Irom Meijrao Apunba Nupi Lup.

Though there was no human casualty, the attack caused severe damages to the walls and roof of the house.
