Thoubal/Imphal, July 16 2019: Thoubal and Tulihal Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) saved lives by providing timely treatment to three snakes bite victims.

In two separate incidents, Thoubal Battalion saved a 43 year old man and an 18 year boy who were bitten by poisonous snakes.

Both the snake bite victims were evacuated to the Unit Hospital, said a statement of IGAR (S).

In another case, Tulihal Battalion saved a 35 year old man who was bitten by the snake and was evacuated to the Unit Hospital.

All three snake bite victims were readily attended by the medical teams of respective units under Regimental Medical Officer and were administered necessary life saving treatment.

The locals expressed gratitude and prompt response of the Assam Rifles at a crucial time, it added.
