Imphal, November 14 2019:
Indian Army has conducted a free medical camp at Taksing, Arunachal Pradesh, yesterday.
A press release issued by PIB (DW) said that the camp witnessed a large turnout of patients including women and children who were provided with much needed treatment and medicines.
Taksing is a hamlet which is nestled in the western reaches of Upper Subansiri District of Arunachal Pradesh.
It is the abode to the relatively unknown Nah Tagin tribe and is the last bastion of human civilization, it added.
Stating that daily sustenance is an ongoing struggle for the inhabitants in this far flung village, it continued that the Indian Army has decided to organise similar camp at regular intervals to help the people.
Earlier this year, a 'Polio Ravivaar' campaign was organized to provide immunization dose to the children and awareness programmes were also conducted for the villagers including a door to door medical campaign to educate them about the importance of hygiene and sanitation, it added.
