Imphal, March 13 2016: The 3rd State Level Honey Festival has kick started at GM hall from today.

16 stalls are taking part in the festival organised by Manipur Beekepers' Federation (MBKF).

Manipur State Small Farmers Agri Business Consortium co-ordinator MS Khaidem, MBKF president S Nilakamal and NABARD ADGM RK Yaiphaba graced the opening function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

In his keynote address, MBKF vice-president A Tarakishore said that the federation was formed with an ob- jective to bring all the beekeepers of the State on a common platform.

Saying that the federation now has around 700 members, Tarakishore said that the 1st State Level Honey Festival was held at Kangla in 2004. During the festival the beekeepers would be imparted knowledge on marketing and processing of honey as well.
