Imphal, June 02 2018:
As a measure to prevent the Nipah virus outbreak of Kerala from reaching Manipur, an infrared thermometer has been installed at Imphal International airport.
Conveying that the State Health Services has intensified surveillance at the airport by installing the infrared thermometer, an official source explained that the Army authorities concerned have been notified to isolate Army personnel arriving from Kerala if they begin showing symptoms similar to Japanese Encephalitis and to transfer them to the isolation wards at RIMS or JNIMS and to put them under quarantine.
