Kakching, October 01 2017: International Day of Older Person was observed at Library and Information Centre, Kakching, at Kakching Phousupat, today, under the aegis of Senior Citizens Forum Kakching .

Retired Commissioner, Shougrakpam Kunjabihari Singh (IAS), ex-Minister and president of Senior Citizens Forum Kakching, Nongmaithem Nimai Singh, retired principal, Kshetrimayum Mangal Singh, ex-MLA, Y Thambal Singh, former president, Senior Citizens Forum Kakching, Naorem Kalimohon Singh and ex-Minister, Thokchom Tomba Singh, attended the event as the presidium members .

The oldest man in Kakching, Naorem Tonungshi Singh and the oldest woman in the district, Mayanglambam Thanil Devi, along with 44 senior citizens who are above 90 years of age, were given a cash award of Rs 1000 each along with a shawl, as a part of the event .

Bhubon Memorial Trust Kakching, also handed over mementos to Senior Citizens Forum for organising the event.
