Maj Bob Khathing anniversary

Imphal, February 01, 2013: In connection with the 101st birth anniversary of (Late) Maj Bob Khathing, 41 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector will organise second Maj Bob Khathing Football Championship Somsai, Ukhrul from February l8 to 27. According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, the tournament will be on the lines with the announcement made by IGAR (S), last year on the occasion of the first edition of the championship to make it a yearly event.

The second edition will see teams from, all districts of Manipur sweating out for the coveted championship, conveyed the release adding that the tournament will be a charity event and no entry fees will be charged from the spectators or the teams.

In addition to this, a seminar will also be held at Somsai Garisson on February 26 wherein family members of Late Major Bob Khathing and visiting dignitaries will be dwelling on his life, times and contribution.

The event will conclude with a wreath laying ceremony on February 28 at his final resting abode, Mantripukhri.
