Imphal, November 30 2016: Training cum workshop on "Date migration for Goods and Services Tax (GST) was organised by the Department of Taxes at Marawari Dharmasala, Thangal Bazar today.

The programme was graced by Commissioner T Ranjit said that the training cum workshop programme has been organised in order to spread an awareness on the GST Act which has been passed by the Indian Government.

The Act will start implementing from April 2017 .

The Central Government levies 8 different kinds of taxes while the State Government levies 9 different types of taxes.

GST will replace all these taxes.

Dealers are to have their own income tax account for this purpose.
