JNIMS gets Bronchoscopy machine

Imphal, June 28 2016: Chest and TB Department, JNIMS Hospital installed Bronchoscopy machine in the hospital today.

The ma- chine was launched in a simple function at the hospital attended by JNIMS Hospital Director Professor Deben Laishram, Head of Chest Department Professor N Tombi and staff. Most of the doctors in the Hospital have undergone bron- choscopy training courses supported by the Chief Minister, Professor Deben Laishram stated. TB patients and others requiring biopsy for throat cancer or lumps were referred to hospitals outside the State as bronchoscopic diagnostic procedure was not available in the hospital, Professor Deben said adding that the hospital can now perform biopsies with the help of the newly installed bronchoscopy machine.
