AR recovers textile items worth Rs 1.74 cr

Imphal, June 26 2021:
Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (South) foiled cross border smuggling near Khudengthabi in Tengnoupal district on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), a search operation was launched based on specific input on cross border smuggling near Pineapple Farm area.
During the operation, the troops observed two vehicles plying on a jungle track.
On seeing the troops, the drivers abandoned the vehicles and fled into the dense forest.
On checking of the vehicles, 67 gunny bags containing textile items worth Rs 1.74 crore were recovered.
The recovered items and vehicles were handed over to the Customs Department Moreh, the PRO informed.
