Imphal, July 25 2014 : Loktak Power Station, NHPC Ltd has conducted the ninth batch of Free Cataract Operation on July 24 at Shija Hospital and Research Institute, Imphal where 12 cataract cases were operated successfully under the project "Netra Jyoti" of its Corporate Social Responsibility, it said in a press release.

Free medicines, subsidised cost of operation with foldable IOL, transportation and food for the patients were provided by NHPC Ltd.

Free spectacles shall be distributed to the cataract operated cases.

During the current financial year, 92 cataract cases have been operated in 9 batches.

Elderly persons having cataract and other difficulty in seeing distant objects may contact the doctors at Project Hospital at Leimatak on working days or dispensary at Ithai barrage on Tuesday, in order to avail tge opportunity of free cataract operation, it said.
