Imphal, July 23 2014:
Saying that all the ir demands as well as service rules of RIMS were discussed in a joint meeting of RIMS authority and officials of the Union Health Ministry on July 18, the RIMS Nurses Association Lamphelpat (RNAL) exuded that all the controversies and disputes would be settled soon.
A press release issued by RNAL said that one of their demands is appointment of staff to vacant posts through DPC.
It appears that there are no definite rules for promotion of nurses in RIMS.
It is not clear whether nurses are promoted on the basis of seniority or some other criteria.
Peeved by some controversial promotions, RNAL launched cease work strike on June 12 .
Nonetheless, as the matter has been discussed with officials of the Union Health Ministry, a solution is expected soon.
The concerned authority is expected to bring out specific rules for all the emplo- yees.
Voluntary nurses appointed on account of differ- ent strikes should now be removed as all the strikes have ended.
It further appealed for recruitment of 66 nurses ag- ainst regular posts as notified in advertisements as soon as possible.
