Imphal, April 23 2013: Mahavir Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavira and the biggest festival of Jain community around the globe, was also celebrated with religious fervour in Imphal today.

The festival was marked by a religious procession from the eastern side of Kastury Bridge to the Jain Temple at Paona Bajaar after passing through Thangal Bazaar, MG Avenue, Dharmashala, Nityaipat Chuthek, Keishampat Junction.

The religious procession was attended by thousands of followers of Jainism.
