Imphal, September 22 2011: With the objective of preventing any possible outbreak of bird flu in Manipur, an official meeting was held today with Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Principal Secretary IS Laishram in the chair.

An official source informed that the meeting was attended Veterinary Director, Joint Directors and officials who have thorough knowledge in the field avian flu.

The meeting decided to enhance preventive measures in view of the approaching winter season during which many migratory birds are expected to immigrate to the State.

Another decision of the meeting was to create greater awareness about avian flu among the people.
