Imphal, March 21 2018: With an aim to empower women folk of Huidrom village, 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) donated a total of six electrical sewing machines to the women of the village.

The sewing machines will help the talented/ skilled women of the area in earning livelihoods, said a statement issued by the IGAR South.

Zila Parishad member Mr Rabichandra Meiti, village president H Rajen Singh and Meira Paibi leader Geetachandra attended the event.

The villagers lauded the Assam Rifles for their gesture.
