Imphal, November 20 2021: Troops of Tengnoupal Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) foiled a cross border smuggling attempt nearKhudengthabi in Tengnoupal district on Saturday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), an operation was launched by the troops on the basis of a reliable input regarding movement of illegal items.

During the operation, a total of 42 packages containing contraband items approximately worth Rs 74.09 lakh were recovered.

The recovered items have been handed over to the Customs Department Moreh for further action, it added.
