Imphal, December 19 2024: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has reportedly re-imposed the Protected Area Permit (PAP) in the state citing security concerns arising out of influx from neighbouring countries.

A state government statement issued late on Wednesday night outlined that consequent to re-imposition of the PAP system, the movement of foreigners visiting Manipur will be closely monitored, and they are required to obtain the necessary PAP in accordance with the Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order, 1958.It further informed that the Protected Area Permit has also been re-imposed in Nagaland and Mizoram.
