Loaded truck trapped in middle of Barak bridge, to take 2/3 days to move

Jirtbam, December 19 2018: The Barak Bridge along the National Highway 37 is once again in news.

It has been reported that, on Wednesday at around 9.30 am, a loaded 12 wheeler truck having registration no AF01-BB-5037 heading from Guwahati was crossing the bridge but its rear wheel got trapped in the middle of the bridge due to slippery surface of the bridge Sources added it might take two days to clear the bridge.

According to the Truck driver, Oinam Mani Singh (28) s/o O Amit Singh of Oinam Sawongbung Makha Leikai, the truck was carrying transport materials and not overloaded but the rear wheel of the truck got trapped in the middle of the bridge as the surface of the bridge was filled with mud making it very slippery.
