Assam Rifles foils smuggling bid

Imphal, November 19 2021:
Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (S) foiled a cross border smuggling attempt near Khudengthabi village in Tengnoupal district on Friday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), an operation was launched by the troops of Assam Rifles on the basis of a reliable input regarding movement of illegal items.
During the operation, a total of 51 packages containing liquor, furniture, cosmetic and electronic items approximately worth Rs 67.93 lakh were recovered.
The recovered items have been handed over to the Customs Department Moreh for further legal action, it added.
