Amarendra Sharma felicitated

Peoples' Rights Initiative in Social Mobilization (PRISM) has organised the felicitation ceremony of L Amarendra Sharma, who has been conferred SPANDAN (Special Performance Awards in National Trust centric Disabilities, Activities and Networking), at the Preview Theatre, Manipur Film Development Corporation (MFDC), Palace Compound here today.
Amarendra Sharma was conferred SPANDAN in the category of Best Individual (Professional), by the National Trust, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt of India for the year 2012-13.He has been extending services in the field of film making which are specifically focused on disability issues.
His various documentary films "Shakhangdraba Mahakto (The Unknown), Khangdokpa (Hidden talent) and Eishu Hingli Nakhoigum (I live like you)" have been awarded in the National Film Festival in 2006.Many of his documentary films like "Impossible...", "Waiting for you", "Question of success", "Means to live" were awarded in "We Care Filmfest" .
All his films are creating valuable awareness amongst the general public which due to their visual attraction gives more impact and spreads awareness at the grass root level.
