Imphal, November 16, 2012: A powerful bomb rocked Thoubal Haokha near the local junior high school along Imphal-Moreh highway (NH 2) at about 9 am today but no one was hurt in the explosion. A police source informed that the power explosive went off on the western side of the highway just as a convoy of Assam Rifles heading for Imphal went past the spot.

It is believed that the bomb was either remote-controlled or equipped with a timer device.

Even as the AR convoy heard the explosion, they only stopped for a moment and went ahead on their journey.

Notably, a powerful bomb was detected and retrieved from Lilong Tairen Makhong area along the same highway in the morning of November.
