Thoubal, November 14 2013: Under the aegis of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal and Manipur State AIDS Control Society, Imphal the Red Ribbon Club (Youth Sporting Club), Kiyam Siphai organised one day Public Meeting on Creating Awareness on HIV and AIDS held at YSC Ground today.

L Ibothoi Singh, social activist attended the programme as its presidium member while Dr Shanta Singh, Medical Officer, RVS � II, Khongjom was the resource person of the day.

Dr Shanta delivered talks on Substance Abuse and its remedial measures.

He said that addiction is a disease.

The drug addicts required psychosocial support and proper medical treatment.

The substance abuse is becoming very common in the age group of 15-24 years and the role of parents becoming very crucial and they should spend quality time with their children.
