Imphal, July 13 2014: One Assam leaf turtle was on Saturday rescued and handed over to People for Animal (PFA) by Alani Shongsir, Mission Secretary of Manipur Baptist Convention.

He found the turtle in his paddy field located at Japhao in Chandel district.

In the meantime, Khundongbam Romen of Yaiskul Chingakham Leirak handed over one young common cobra which was found in his home and news hawker Elangbam Prem of Pombikhok Ching Leikai has rescued one Gecko rescued and released the same to a hillock.

Meanwhile, Laishram Inaobi of Wangkhem Mayai Leiai visited PFA and handed over one young leaf turtle.

He told that he bought the turtle at Rs 600 from Ukhrul recently and added that some vegetable sellers sold it, conveyed it in a press release from PFA.
