Elderly man dies in accident

Kakching, November 09 2024: An elderly man died after he was hit by a Maruti van (MN 04P 0583) at Sora Irengband Lamkhai along NH-102 (Imphal-Moreh road) on Saturday around 7:30 pm.

The victim has been identified as Md Serajuddin (65), son of (late) Md Meino of Sora Karanchi Awang Leikai, presently living at a rented accommodation at Sora Bazar.

According to reports, the victim was on foot when he was struck by the van coming from northern direction.

He was taken to Jivan Hospital, Kakching for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.

A case has been registered at Kakching police station and the body has been kept at JNIMS Morgue for post-mortem.
