Imphal, November 08 2019: Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted "Know your Army Mela" at St Peter's School of Tengnoupal today during Children's cum parents day meeting.

The aim of the event was to acquaint the young minds about the various recruitment rallies conducted by Assam Rifles, provision to join National Defense Academy (NDA), Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Officer Training Academy (OTA) as officers and to motivate them to join armed forces and other security forces, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South) .

A total of 450 students of Class I to Class XII, and 196 parents, teachers, youths and members of civil society organisations attended the event, said AR.

During the mela, weapons and equipment were displayed.

To encourage the students and to inculcate Nationalism amongst them, the Commandant, Tengnoupal Battalion addressed the gathering and motivated the students.

The civil administration of Tengnoupal district thanked Assam Rifles for their efforts, said AR.
