Double parking in Imphal area

Imphal, May 06 2015 : Despite the clear cut rules the authority concerned has been turning a blind eye to double parkings at the Paona, Thangal and Khwairamband markets in the Imphal town.

This illegal activity resorted by the private firms is causing traffic jam.

There is no space for passing cars, two wheelers.

Besides pedestrians cannot walk as the shop keepers are displaying their commodities on sale.

Most of the flagged cars just park in the middle of the streets and the traffic cops and parking agents cannot say a word.

The rules say that those owners of vehicles who make double park have to pay fines to the authority.

However this provision is non-existent in Manipur.
