Thoubal, February 06 2018:
Youth Sporting Club, Khundongbam Leikai, Thoubal district has appealed concerned Minister and departments to save Thoubal river from sand mining.
Since the past 2/3 years Thoubal river water has been muddy owing to extensive sand mining at some sections of the river.
The river is a major source of water for people of Thoubal and sand mining has polluted the river, said a statement issued today.
The club appealed concerned Minister to look into the matter and take up necessary measures to regulate river sand mining from Thoubal river.
