PFA Thoubal rescues birds

Thoubal, July 05 2014 :
Recued birds from diffrent places of Manipur were taken in the custody of PFA Thoubal.
A green pigeon commonly known as Thick billed green pigeon was rescued by Khwairakpam Baljit of Awang Sekmai.
The pigeon is being treated at PFA shelter, said a press release.
In another incident, one Bengal Monitor Lizard was handed over to PFA by Samandram Samanda and Samandram Sharatchandra of Thoubal Haokha Heibi Makhong.
A severely injured Bengal Slow Loris was handed over by L Bimol Assistant Public Prosecutor, Thoubal.
The Slow Loris was actually rescued from Thoubal Athokpam and handed the animal to L Bimol.
Unfortunately it succumbed to its injury.
One cuckoo bird too was rescued from Thoubal Nongangkhong by H Jamuna councillor ward no 1 Thoubal Municipality council.
In another incident, an Indian Nightjar was rescued by Akham Bhogendro of Sagolband Moirang Leirak.
The tail feather of the bird was found snip off.
The speciality of this bird is that it could camouflage among dry leaves or barks according to its colour and shape.
