Imphal, October 04 2015: Reacting to a news report as published in some section of the media, the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has rejected the same report as fabricated and contended that there was no gun fight between their cadres and Madras Regiment on October 1 .

According to a press release issued by ZUF information and publicity secretary A Longmei, the man from Chongkhong (Kuki village) allegedly shot dead by Madras Regiment as ZUF cadre was an innocent civilian who was coming back from Khoupum Bazar together with another man after buying medicine for their relatives.

Even as one of them was shot dead, the other, somehow, escaped.

Both the men do not have any link with ZUF, it added.
