AMMIK denounces monetary demand

Imphal, April 02 2018: A sit-in-protest was staged by Apunba Manipur Matam Eshei Kanglup (AMMIK) at Hicham Yaichampat, Moirangkhom today against a monetary demand served by an underground outfit to the organisation.

Speaking to media persons, AMMIK president S Tijendra claimed that a monetary demand of Rs 2 lakh was served to the organisation by an underground outfit through telephone on March 20 last.

He said that the monetary demand is unbearable as most of the artistes under AMMIK belong to poor family.

He contended that the underground outfit also threatened the organisation with dire consequences if the monetary demand is not given.

All the artistes under AMMIK have decided to cease presenting songs from today in protest against the demand, he added.
