The 12 Bi-har of 9 Sector Assam Rifles observed World Anti Tobac-co Day at the Bn HQs in Tulihal on May 31.A lecture cum demonstration on the global observance was conducted by medical Officer of 12 Bihar and was attended by the civil populace and troops, informed a PRO IGAR (S) release adding that the event was aimed at educating the masses about the hazards of tobacco consumption including cancer and early death.
The event served to create awareness among the populace of Manipur where tobacco consumption is one the highest in India, it said.
Meanwhile, medical team of 12 Bihar saved the life of a snake bite victim namely Henry Kabui (18) of Bam-diar Tamphagei by adminis- tering life saving medication.
