Imphal, October 31 2015 : Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress members distributed clothing and food items to inmates of Raja Dumbra Singh Women's Home, Nongmeibung today in connection with 31st death anniversary the observance of first woman Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.

The items were presented to the Home in a simple function attended by MPCC Mahila Congress in-charge, MLA D Korungthang and Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress president L Tilotama.

Speaking at the programme, L Tilotama said the day has been observed in other parts of the country as Re-dedication Day.

Tilotama said the Raja Dumbra Singh Women's Home, set up by the All Manipur Women's Association, is the by-product of late Indira Gandhi's campaign for women empowerment.

Founder of the Home, RK Mukhrasana was also once the president of Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress, Tilotama added.
