Ukhrul, October 29 2015: After more than 15 electric posts were damaged by landslide and windstorm in July 2015, villagers under Kasom Khullen Sub-Division have been reeling under power crisis.

In a statement, secretary of Kasom Khullen village said that Thermal engine power was installed at Kasom Khullen Sub-Divisional Headquarters in 1983.Later, direct electric line from Thoubal was installed.

However, there is no official quarters for the AE, SO and staff members.

The department concerned collects power bills without supplying regular electricity.

If there is proper supply of electricity, the villagers will willingly pay bills.

A metre box should also be fixed at every household in order to avoid discrepancy between the consumers and the department concerned, the statement said.
