Imphal, May 29 2024: A man was electrocuted after coming in contact with a malfunctioning "live" electric pole in the flood.

The deceased has been identified as Laishram Sana-tomba (75) from Sagolband Nepra Menjor Mamang Leikai.

He was a Mathematics teacher at Popular High School, Sagolband Moirang Leirak.

Around 2.50 pm, Sanatomba went to purchase some items from a nearby shop.

On his way, he stepped aside to avoid being splashed by floodwater as a car drove by.

In doing so, he inadvertently touched a live electric pole and was electrocuted.

He was admitted at RIMS Hospital for treatment at 3.30 pm but passed away subsequently.
