Noney, May 24 2021: Two minor girls, aged 8 and 12, drowned in Leimatak River near Taosang bridge, Noney district today.

The minors have been identified as Monica Thaimei (8) daughter of Ajang Thaimei and Jangpuilu (12), daughter of Babasing, both of Longjang (Thangal) village, Noney.

They drowned while they were bathing in the river at around 1 pm.

The bodies of the minors were recovered from the river by youths of Thangal and surrounding villages at around 4.30 pm today.
