Imphal, June 21 2011: A man, involved in the looting of Jiri-bound two trucks loaded with FCI items, was arrested by Assam police in a follow up action to the looting incident which was occurred last night around 11 pm.

A report received here said that the two trucks, one loaded with FCI rice and another with FCI sugar to be offloaded at FCI godown at Jiribam were looted at gun point by some miscreants near Lalpani of Assam along the NH-53 last night.

No sooner had the incident occurred, Assam police immediately rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough search for the looters in and around the Lalpani area.

In the operation, one looter was arrested with the recovery of some looted items, the report said.

Interrogation was on to arrest other looters, the report quoting the Assam police said.
