Imphal, September 19 2015 : A team of Imphal West district police arrested two activists of CorCom and recovered arms and ammunition yesterday.

According to a reliable source, under the supervision of Th Vikramjit Additional SP (Operations), a team of Imphal West district police led by Imphal West DySP (commando) Sachidananda and Imphal West commando OC P Sanjoy arrested the armed cadres identified as Oinam Pradeep Singh alias Oinamcha (46) s/o Ashokumar of Singjamei Oinam Thingel and Oinam Lukhoi (52) s/o (L) Chaobhal of Thoubal Ningombam.

The operation was conducted after getting a specific information by Imphal West district police and inputs from 40 Assam Rifles under 9 Sector AR.

After his revelation, the police team recovered arms and ammunition which were kept buried at Thoubal Khonou hill.

The recovered arms and ammunition include two 9 mm pistols with magazine along with 10 live rounds, five live rounds of AK assault rifle, three live rounds of SLR.

Sources further said that both of them are working under the command of one Nganba of CorCom and he handed over the arms and ammunition to them during State Assembly elections held in 2012 .
