Imphal, July 17 2014: A combined team of Bishnupur District Police commando unit and 12 Bihar Regiment on Wednesday conducted search operation at Leimapokpam Khunpham Makha Leikai.

During the search operation, according to PRO of Police Department press statement, one cadre of KCP(MC), identified as Soibam Rakesh Singh (24) S/o (L) S Yaima Singh of Awang Jiri was arrested and one mobile phone handset along with two SIM cards were seized from his possession, it said.

Investigation revealed that he was involved in serving demand letters of KCP(MC) to the general public of Khumbong and Ngairangbam villages.

On follow up action, another cadre of KCP(MC), identified as Chanambam Puranjoy Singh (27), S/o (L) Ch Kumar Singh of Ngairangbam Makha Leikai, who was involved in lobbing of one hand grenade at the house of the Director of NIT on April 6, 2014 at Nambol Bazar was also arrested today, it release said and added that one mobile phone handset along with two SIM cards were seized from his possession.

Further investigation revealed that he was also involved in serving demand letters of KCP(MC) to the general public of Kachikhul, Maklang, Awang Khunou, Salam, Sagoltongba, Khumbong and Khaidem villages.
