Governor La Ganesan pays tribute

Imphal, June 17 2022: Governor La Ganesan has paid tribute to the "first lady of Indian freedom struggle", Rani Lakshmi Bai on the occasion of Jhansi Rani Balidan Divas which falls on June 18 .

Calling her an epitome of bravery and courage, the Governor said in a statement that Indian history has not yet witnessed a woman warrior as brave and powerful as the Rani of Jhansi.

The Governor lauded her as a glorious example of patriotism and national pride and said that she is an inspiration for a lot of people.

Rani Lakshmi Bai was martyred during a struggle to liberate Indians from British rule, her name is thus written in golden letters in the history of India, the Governor concluded.
