AZSU clarifies on demand

Imphal, June 13 2011: Reacting to a news item published in some sections of the media regarding creation of Jiribam district, All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) has clarified that the union and Rongmei community have neither opposed nor supported the issue.

A press release issued by General Secretary Nchaheing Kompoing said that no decision has been taken in this regard so far as the creation of Jiribam district does not touch an inch of Zeliangrong land including Tamenglong district.

The union also cautioned the individuals and organisations, which dragged in the names of AZSU and Rongmei community into the issue, not to repeat the same in future.
