Chandel, December 11 2019: Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) constructed a toilet block at the office of the District Soldier Board, Chandel under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme 2019 .

The toilet block was handed over to District Soldier Board during an inaugural function organised today, said a press release issued by PRO, IGAR.

The function was attended by the officials of Soldier Board, Ex-servicemen, Veer Nari and Widows.

The construction of toilet block will help ex-servicemen in maintaining a clean and healthy ambience which will contribute immensely to uphold the concept of "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan", it said.

During the function, the Commandant interacted with the Ex-servicemen and visited office of the District Soldier Board.

The ex-servicemen conveyed their sincere gratitude towards Assam Rifles for carrying out development projects for the welfare of ex- servicemen.
