Farmers start sowing wheat

Thoubal, October 10 2019: As an alternative to paddy, farmers of Wangjing-Tentha AC have started sowing wheat in their fields.

Wheat seeds were distributed to farmers under the aegis of Wangjing-Tentha AC MLA Paonam Brojen Singh.

The farmers were provided the alternative crop seeds to cope with failing paddy cultivation.

All interested farmers affected by scanty rains this year may approach the office of the Wangjing Tentha Kendra Farmers Development Cooperative Organisation for availing wheat seeds, said officials.
