Imphal, August 10, 2014: A 12-year-old girl died from drowning in Singda dam around 3.30pm today.

The deceased, Simte Thoibi d/o Letmang, along with her brother and some friends were playing in the reservoir.

Unfortunately Simte who could not swim fell and drowned.

Simte's brothers and his friends immediately went in the water in search of her.

After Simte's body was recovered, she was immediately rushed to RIMS, where the girl was declared brought dead.

Simte Thoibi was studying in VIII standard in Children Academy, Leimakhong.
