Imphal, October 08 2015: Troops of 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) established a vehicle check post at Khudengthabi and apprehended a woman carrying illegal wildlife product yesterday.

The apprehendee has been identified as M Keinahan (75) w/o (L) Bir Chandra of Salungpham Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district.

She was travelling in a Maruti van (AS 01 BK 6267) and heading towards Imphal, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).

During the frisking and checking, two flying geckos weighing around 10-15 grams concealed inside a cigarette packet were recovered from her possession.

The apprehendee along with the recovered item have been handed over to Forest Department, Imphal.
