Sit-in protest held against frequent bandhs, blockades

Jiribam (Imphal East), May 06 2015 : Workers of "YES" package drinking water today staged a sit-in protest at Yairipok and urged all the individual(s), group(s) and organisation(s) not to resort to bandhs and blockades while initiating any form of agitation for the common good.

Speaking to media persons, one of the workers said, "Using bandh, blockade as a tool to meet the demands of certain organisations or groups should be put to an end.

People who are earning on a daily basis have been greatly affected, academic atmosphere of thousands of students are hampered.

Bandh supporters will sometimes damage public properties, vehicles and cause hindrance to commuters.

These kinds of agitations will not bring any amicable solutions but rather cause chaos and curb the flow of development in society" .
