AR recovers 109 betel nut bags

Imphal, October 04 2021: Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (South) recovered 109 betel nut bags approximately worth Rs 40 lakh near the Indo-Myanmar border close to Kulyang village in Tengnoupal district on Sunday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), during a search operation, troops of Assam Rifles recovered the bags dumped in the jungle that contained 7182 kg of betel nuts.

The recovered items have been handed over to Customs Preventive Force, Moreh for further legal action, it added.
