Imphal, June 03 2011: In connection with the alleged assault of three Maring women at Maringlane by Industries Minister Yumkham Erabot, an official team of Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) led by its chairperson today visited Maringlane to conduct an inquiry and meet the three Maring women personally.

MSWC has started a preliminary investigation in the incident from today following a complaint lodged by chairperson of Maringlane Women Development Sangnu Maring.

In her complaint, Sangnu alleged that Minister Erabot assaulted three Maring women at Maringlane on May 31 and termed it as a violence not just against the three women but to all the women.
